I have to be to get tattooed?
In South Carolina you must be
at least 18 years of age.

How come
I can’t be pregnant and get tattooed?
It is not recommended to get a tattoo while pregnant due to the risk of viral infection, such as Hepatitis B, which could be passed on to the fetus and cause severe complications. It is advised to wait until after giving birth.

why isn't it safe?
If a nursing mother contracts a viral infection or takes certain medications for bacterial infection or severe skin reaction, it could be transmitted to the baby through breastmilk. The same applies to infections resulting from toxic minerals in certain inks.

No, head, face, and neck tattoos are illegal in South Carolina.
